Meet Annie
Hello and welcome!
My name is Annie Perry and I am a clinically licensed social worker. I am a born and raised Washingtonian, leaving only briefly to do my undergrad in Middlebury, Vermont. When I'm not working, I enjoy reading, baking, and spending time with my family, which at this point in time looks like playgrounds on the weekend and pointing out all of the construction vehicles around town.
The foundation of my learning came from my early career experience in medical settings. I started in the emergency department at Overlake Hospital Medical Center. After several years, I transitioned to their outpatient Palliative Care clinic, working with patients (and families) dealing with serious and progressive illnesses. I am a co-facilitator of the Overlake’s six week bereavement support group, The Path of Grief, and recently began facilitating a support group through Cancer Lifeline as well.

Behind the Name: Oak & Willow
When it came time to name my practice, I was drawn to nature-inspired names. The balance of the oak tree's symbolism with that of the willow tree lends itself well to therapy and grief therapy: the oak tree perseveres through hard times due to its strength and sturdiness while the willow tree perseveres due to its flexibility and ability to bend with the wind. I believe balancing both strength and flexibility, and allowing ourselves to engage with either in any given situation, is what helps us manage through life's tough times. In a serendipitous twist, Willow was the nickname my mom had for me growing up, and my experience with grief after her death was one of the things that nudged my career in this specific direction.
